Jackson Road Bridge Replacement Public Engagement

Jackson Road Bridge Replacement Public Engagement

Case Study: The Peak team developed a public participation plan, in conjunction with County staff from Public Works and Planning and Development Services, to provide the public with an opportunity to discuss the bridge replacement project, identify needs and constraints, and develop preliminary concepts for the crossing. Our process also provided an opportunity for the design team to outline the final concept, limitations, and schedule, and to gather any additional input for County consideration.

Impact: The project is still underway. However, the survey developed by the Peak team garnered well over 150 comments from citizens who use or access the bridge to access homes or to get to errands and/or work. Note: Flooding due to climate change-driven tides and wind impacted this particular bridge during the storms of late 2021 and early 2022.
