Client: Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance and Gig Harbor Yacht Club
Case Study: Gig Harbor organizations hired Peak to conduct a community needs assessment for boating-related economic planning. The Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance, the Gig Harbor Yacht Club, and local marine-related businesses sought community and boating community input. This involved a community-input seminar on marine-related issues from services to tourism and collecting data via an online and in-person survey. We designed posters, planned a boating seminar and public meeting, collected over 100 surveys, and summarized the key findings.
Impact: The assessment identified the types of marine-related services needed to make Gig Harbor more attractive to boaters in the region. It provided a valuable planning tool for the Downtown Waterfront Alliance and local businesses to define priorities for this important sector of their economy.
Testimonial: “The community engagement efforts Peak orchestrated helped to define the regional boating community’s priorities for Gig Harbor and served as a valuable planning tool for the Gig Harbor Downtown Association and various water-dependent and tourism-dependent businesses in the area.” Gig Harbor Downtown Waterfront Alliance
