Client: Port of Bellingham

Case Study: The Port of Bellingham published a Climate Action Roadmap in 2019. Peak is partnering with Veda Environmental to facilitate the next steps for the Port to evaluate climate change impacts to port operations as well as identify mitigation and adaptation goals. This process will set a course for the Port as it implementing actions. Peak is working on the team with project lead, Veda Environmental, to assist the Port of Bellingham especially as it pertains to the City of Bellingham’s climate actions and priorities.

Impact: The Peak team is very familiar with the City of Bellingham’s climate planning and is applying that knowledge to the Port process so that actions can be consistent and mutually supportive. We are promoting conversations at the nexus of science, strategic planning, and communication. This is helping the Port and stakeholders to identify issues and opportunities and to communicate and engage effectively so that they create a visionary Climate Action Strategy that will position the Port of Bellingham as a leader among mid-sized ports.
