The Whatcom County Clean Energy Transportation Summit provided a platform to explore regional cutting-edge developments in clean energy: biofuels, green energy, hydrogen production and distribution, geothermal energy, and the emerging potential of fusion technology.

Our team organized and facilitated the Whatcom County Clean Energy Transportation Summit, bringing together over 50 regional stakeholders from clean energy suppliers and potential energy users. The half-day summit featured two dynamic breakout sessions designed to foster engagement and collaboration. First, participants shared insights on opportunities, limitations, and strategies to overcome barriers in the clean energy landscape. Then, organized by their transportation sectors—marine, bus, fleet, heavy transportation, rail, and household transportation—participants identified collaborative opportunities and synergies.

Impact: The summit concluded with a collaborative discussion on actionable next steps. Participants affirmed that Whatcom County’s unique position as a hub for clean energy production and innovation. The region’s focus, funding opportunities, and strong interest in collaboration provide a solid foundation for progress. In response to the enthusiastic feedback, the team has been tasked with organizing a follow-up meeting to advance planning and deepen strategic discussions. This summit underscores the region’s collective commitment to driving clean energy solutions and fostering partnerships that accelerate sustainable progress.
